Remote Controlled Models – The Helicopter

If you like remote controlled models and have plenty of space, then you might want to think about buying one of the new big remote control helicopters that have recently been introduced by several makes. These helicopters, which can occasionally be as large as ten feet long, rival real helicopters in dexterity. They are expensive and can set you back three thousand dollars or more.

As with many fads, some people just have to possess one of their own. So, the next time you are walking in the countryside and you see a helicopter flying in the region, look again closely. At first you will probably think that it is a real helicopter that is simply further away then you first thought. But look again and you will probably see someone controlling the helicopter with a huge remote control unit.

If you see one of these remote controlled helicopters in flight, deem yourself very lucky. Because it is so expensive to own one of these beauties, they are also still pretty uncommon. However, because I am an avid collector myself, I have considered purchasing one of these big remote control helicopters, and I even put a bid on one in Ebay once, but in the end I did not get it and instead decided to wait until the price comes down a bit more.

Just as with any new, trendy item, big remote control helicopters are the latest fad, but in a few years, I am sure there will be a better supply and the price will fall. Then I will be ready and waiting to buy. But until then, I have a very bighearted and rich friend who owns one, and I will rehearse flying his. I have already taken it out once – it is so much more powerful than the normal, small remote control helicopters that you are most likely used to. When you first turn it on, the big remote control helicopter?s rotors spin with such ferociousness, that you may worry that you are going to break something. and then, when it lifts off the ground, you will experience a huge sense of achievement, knowing that you are the one who is controlling it.

And if you are able to make a successful, smooth landing too, then you can truthfully call yourself a helicopter pilot, because even those very experienced with small remote control helicopters will be impressed to see someone land a big remote control helicopter, because it truly is completely different. So if you happen to be fortunate, rich, or just single-minded enough to purchase one of your own, enjoy your time with your large helicopter.

I assure you that it will be one of the most exciting experiences of your life. For me, the entire process was unreal, and when it was all over, I had to phone everyone I knew and tell them how I had flown a 10 foot helicopter and landed it smoothly. I bet that?s how pilots feel the first time they fly a real aircraft.

Getting the Most from Golfing Lessons

It is never easy asking for help, but in golf, it is almost a necessity. Unfortunately, we often ask our buddies and partners, whereas in fact, we should be taking a lesson or two with a professional, usually called the Club Pro.

We may think that a Pro would criticize too harshly, but they are honest, positive and usually very helpful.

Golf lessons at the local golf course aren’t as expensive as you probably think and they are worth it too, because your game will improve more quickly thus causing you less aggravation, making playing golf much more fun for you.

It is of vital importance to be absolutely honest about your game. The Pro will ask you what you think you need to learn: driving, chipping, putting or whatever you feel you need help with.

Listen to the Pro golfer very carefully and follow the Pro’s advice. You may have concerns if the Pro changes your stance, your grip or your swing, but honestly, the Pro does know what is best.

Oh and don’t hesitate to ask the Pro golfer any questions you may have and don’t worry about whether your question or concern may sound stupid – they’ve heard it all before and will not make you feel like an idiot for inquiring. If you don’t get it, tell the Pro that you do not understand. You should never walk away from a lesson with unanswered questions.

For example, a strategy might be to concentrate on one thing during a lesson, or on several. You might start with a lesson on driving; get the right grip, the right stance, the right swing, the right follow-through in one lesson, and then practice it for a few weeks until you feel that you’ve got it right. Next time, you might want to work on your short game, or putting.

You’ve invested in the golfing equipment and it isn’t cheap, so it doesn’t make sense not to learn how to use it to it’s best advantage and improve your abilities, does it?

Choosing Golf Shoes

Your swing may change with time, your accuracy and distance will improve with practice and strength, and you will become deadly accurate with a putter in time, but you will always do these things while standing on your own two feet and they can get tired.

So, your feet need to be comfortable! Have you ever got a blister while walking or running? It’s all you can think about and it ruins the experience of what you are doing. Don’t let uncomfortable shoes ruin your game of golf.

This is one time when you shouldn’t let your natural tendency to save money make the wrong decision for you. You will be putting on these shoes many times over a long period of time and they should be thought of as a good investment in your game of golf.

Comfortability, not expense, should be your main concern when you are purchasing any shoes, not only golf shoes. Your foot should not move at all at the heel when you walk, but your toes shouldn’t feel at all constrained. Be sure to have your shoes fitted professionally and walk around in them before you actually buy them.

Proper golf shoes should also be waterproof, so that your feet remain dry under damp conditions. Good socks are important too as they will wick perspiration away from you feet, keeping your feet dry and comfortable.

All golf courses prohibit metal spikes on golf shoes in an effort to protect their vulnerable greens. Purchase shoes that allow you to change the rubber spikes easily, and while you’re doing that, buy some extra spikes. You never know when you might lose one. You should also replace the spikes when they become worn.

You have a lot of things to worry about when you are playing your round of golf, but your feet shouldn’t be one of them. When it comes to golf shoes, quality counts, honestly.
